WeConnect Energy is currently recruiting for an ESG Manager on behalf of our client, an energy firm based in the UK.
This role is a full time, contract position (6-12 months) reporting directly to the Tax, Insurance and Communications Director and can be based out of either their Aberdeen or London offices.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver and drive an ESG strategy that is compatible with our client's corporate sustainability strategy and goals.
Environmental – Provides oversight, direction and reporting related to our client's environmental impacts. Key responsibilities will include;
Greenhouse gas emissions intensity management including reporting, forecasting and reduction strategies.
Advising on influencing strategies for joint venture businesses.
Assessing emissions data in relation to acquisitions to identify impact on our client's ESG profile
Social - Provides oversight, direction and reporting related to our client's social impacts. Key responsibilities will include;
Engagement with internal supply chain with respect to human rights, labour standards and equity in the supply chain,
Coaching and supporting our client's ESG Committees, DE&I, Charities, Education and Social & Wellness.
Lead and coach our client's personnel with respect to ESG awareness and in alignment with KPI's
Governance – Provides internal support and guidance to the organisation regarding governance structure, practices and reporting. And will include;
Preparation of quarterly shareholder reports with emissions metrics
Remain aware of global ESG regulations and best practices and ensure our client remains aligned, responding where appropriate to changes.
Lead preparation of annual sustainability reporting, including but not limited to SECR & TCFD
Engagement with the Board, ESG sub-committee and our client's executive leadership team regarding regulatory changes, business processes and compliance.
Responsible for the internal and external ESG reporting and representing our client with regulators, stakeholders and the community.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Business or related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications in sustainability or ESG would be a plus
Significant degree of relevant oil and gas/chemical/energy industry related experience.
Experience of working with external parties and understand their requirements.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to champion ESG
Team player and also comfortable working independently
Strong Excel, Word and PPT skills
